YouTube Finally Joins the Get Paid to Publish Videos BandWagon

youtubeJust like Revver and Metacafe, the $1.65 billion worth YouTube will be sending cold cash, er, checks to its users, which is very expected to hapen any time soon. Although, it’s still in a phase where the commission is just available for its most popular users, say lonelygirl15, everybody knows it will eventually roll out this monetization method to other users.

However, there’s still a battle between AdSense and DoubleClick on which to monetize YouTube with.

Beginning today, the site’s most popular creators of user-generated content can share advertising revenues with the Google-owned video sharing site.

But despite mostly positive feedback, some industry experts warn that it was not at all clear which of Google’s advertising technologies—text ads from its AdSense platform or display ads through newly acquired DoubleClick—would be most suitable for monetizing the company’s video-sharing site.

San Bruno, California-based YouTube will initially supply banner ads but Gartner analyst Andrew Frank said he sees the potential for strife at Mountain View, California-based Google as YouTube inventory begins to flood DoubleClick’s ad exchange.

“There might be internal conflicts between AdSense and DoubleClick…as the best way to monetize YouTube content,” said Mr. Frank.
