Make Money Online with a 13 Year Old

Make Money Online with a 13 year old Carl OcabAre you thinking that teenagers who are into blogging are simply venting out their angst-ridden sentiments to the world? Think again because there are youngsters who also use blogging to achieve more fulfilling goals - such as making money online.

Flood of Dollar’s Make Money Online Blog of the Week presents the most popular youngest blogger who’s on his way to be one of the most successful in profiting from online ventures - Carl Ocab’s Make Money Online with a 13-Year-Old, who’s now 14 years old by the way.

FOD: Please give us a backgrounder of yourself, interests and what influenced you to venture into making money online.

Carl: First of all, I want to thank you for picking me as the Make Money Online Blog of the Week. I’m really honored and second, I want to say hi to all the floodofdollars.com readers.

I started blogging 2 years ago. I was blogging for about 5 niche blogspot blogs that is mostly for AdSense ads, there I learned what are the best ad placements, the right optimization of ads, not to be statsaholic :P and most importantly “Duplicate Content”

After 2 months or so, I got burned out because the money I was earning was too small for a chicken feed. Feeling put off, I played games like pokemoncrater.com, Runescape (I was scammed and lost my items! Arrrgh!!) and many more.

After a year of playing games that resulted into nothing, my dad (Oh wait, Happy Father’s Day!) inspired me again to blog and make some money online. I got a little serious in the month of February so I asked for a domain and that’s where carlocab.com was given birth!

FOD: If you were given the chance to improve any service that allows people to make money online such as AdSense, TLA, Adbrite and the like, which is it and what improvement will you implement on that service?

Carl: I would change AdSense’s way of banning people (Even though I’m not banned). Where they actually ban you instantly! Not even asking you or saying a single word. I’m really concerned for those people who work so hard and all of a sudden, they’ll just see a message when they log-in to their account saying that their account was terminated.

FOD: What blog monetization method works for you? Care to share us ballpark estimates of your earnings?

Carl: Honestly, I don’t make big moolah from my blog (YET :D ), what could you expect? It’s still 5 months old.

But anyway I’ll share my monetization techniques to floodofdollars readers.

The best moneymaker so far for my blog is AdSense, ReviewMe, Affiliates and TLA. As you can see, I removed Kontera from my blog. Why? They’re pop-up = irritating! And most of all, they pay soooo low! So why exchange the small bucks for loyal readers that you might lose?

FOD: Have you ever been scammed by any online money making opportunities out there?

Carl: Nahh.. I always do research when I do something and I do have consulting from my dad ;)

FOD: What do you think does one take to be successful in making money online?

Patience – A LOT of patience. On my experience, I still don’t see any fast way of making money online. It’s all hardwork, you gotta go research for this, research for that, etc. So if you don’t have what it takes to wait for months or even years to crack the code, you might as well stop now.

FOD: Aside from money, what will you trade your blog for?

Carl: Information

Like many learned in the world of online business, Carl knows the value of an inbound link and offers to share link love to anyone who’d like to get a link from his PR4 and highly-visited blog. Go visit Carl’s blog to get more info about this opportunity.

Thanks Carl for giving time to share the ups and downs of making money online. Indeed, age doesn’t matter!

It’s really amazing (and sometimes scary) to see how articulate kids are nowadays. Just like Sarabeth!

And 9 and 10-year-old bloggers? Whatever happened to the old paper diary? :-D

He he, I guess UMPCs will become the new paper diaries for our children. :)

Btw, your comments appear as written by “admin.” Just FYI.
