Say NO to Google Bombing for Your Site’s Sake

Although I still believe that link building is still one of the best ways to get found in the big universe of search engines, there’s one way it can backfire - overdoing link building.

This method of going overboard on your link building efforts could be in the form of Google bombing. Google bombing is making a large number of sites give you a backlink using just one or just a few link titles more popularly known as anchor texts to gain a good search engine placement.

If you’d like to know a victim of Google’s wrath over this type of link building technique, John Chow, one of the respected making money online gurus is one.

His site is now no longer found on the first page of search results for his own domain name “John Chow”. Also, if you search for the keyphrase “make money online”, his site is no longer on the top search results either, where it used to be.
