How to Never Run Out of Blog Posts

How to Cure Blogger's BlockIf you’d like to make money online through blogging, it is important to always be ready with fresh content for blog posts.  But what if one day you suddenly run out of things to blog about? If I may call it Blogger’s Block, how do you deal? Here are three fool-proof, ok, almost fool-proof ways to get rid of Blogger’s Block:

1. Add new feeds to your RSS reader.

If you happen to be a news blogger or someone who relays news while blogging or your blog’s theme requires fresh info delivered to their RSS readers, it’s plain logical to add more meat to your RSS reader for more blogging inspiration from other blogs or news sites. I’ve just added Freelance Switch today.  Get two RSS readers, I recommend Google Reader and Bloglines, so that whenever the plumber (Bloglines plumber is the image that shows whenever Bloglines is under maintenance) has to do its job, your RSS reading won’t get interrupted.

2. Plan your blog posts.

It makes sense to keep a schedule of your blog posts, especially if blogging is your bread and butter, right? Now if you’re a whim blogger or you’re one of those gifted with the skill of doing better when you cram, at least keep a record of your blog post ideas. You can always consult this file, maybe an Excel file of blog topics you’ve thought of writing about, whenever your blogging water runs dry. I’m currently maintaining 9 blogs myself, and although I enjoy blogging like a bulimic likes to puke, ok, that’s a crappy analogy, I do get blogger’s block every now and then. And often, my source of remedy is this simple Excel file I’ve placed a shortcut on my PC’s Desktop to help me brew new posts.

3. Stay Alert with the Help of Google

Aside from using search engines aside from Google whenever you have to research about a story you’d like your blog readers to enjoy, dozens of Google tools can help cure blogger’s block. Here are these Google products that can keep your blogging going and going and going…

Google News

This is the news site that can also be your source of blogworthy news feeds that you can stuff your RSS reader with. Key in keywords related to your blog’s theme and voila! Hundreds upon hundreds of news that you can get some blog post ideas from.

Google Alert

Google Alerts can be one great source of information that will help you in drafting one obra maestra of a blog post. How? Google Alerts let you subscribe to certain keywords relevant to your blog’s theme. Say if your blog is about making money online, you subscribe to keywords like, “affiliate marketing”, “paid blogging”, “referral program”, “earn from AdSense”

Google BlogSearch

This the search engine that Google has provided for blogs. Why will you look for blogs, other’s blog posts can help your creative juices flow. Use it like how you’d use Google News or the main Google search engine.
